My White Project delves into the theme of "Lovers," exploring self-love and self-hatred. Inspired by artists like Harry Houdini and Matthew Barney, the project features a symbolic straitjacket representing protection and self-embrace. I seek to evoke the warmth of home through the garment, examining the interplay between self-love, narcissism, and altruism. The design also explores the connection between body and mind, incorporating concepts of peripersonal space and the Homunculus model. Tassels serve as alternative hands, symbolizing personal violation, while considerations of skin and self-harm were omitted to avoid overwhelming symbolism.
