DIOR X FASTNACHT

Project Dior X Fastnacht: A Collaboration at Central Saint Martins with Victoria & Albert Museum, London.

As one of the fortunate 15 selected students, I had the incredible opportunity to showcase my work at the opening of the Dior exhibition through the Fashion in Motion show. Inspired by Christian Dior's deep connection to nature, particularly his reverence for flowers and plants akin to deities, my project delved into the theme of Fastnacht.

During the course of this project, I experienced the profound loss of both my grandmothers. To honor their memory and imbue my work with personal significance, I incorporated fabrics that had once belonged to them. Each stitch carried their essence, their presence in the form of delicately embroidered names adorning the sleeve hems.

Fastnacht, for me, became a celebration of life intertwined with the inevitable cycle of loss and renewal. Through my designs, I sought to capture the essence of Dior's admiration for nature's beauty while paying homage to the cherished memories of my loved ones. This project was not merely a creative endeavor but a deeply personal journey of remembrance and tribute."
